Kelmis is a sport climbing spot right after the Belgium border. You will find 33 routes from 3 to 9+. The rock is limestone. Unfortunately, some of the holds get a little worn out. Nevertheless, it is great climbing. Most of the time you have to tackle a vertical wall, there are nearly no slabs or overhangs. The protection is always good and the approach with 15 min. rather short.
Next to the cool climbing, the spot itself has some beauty. As you can see on the pictures, there is a nice area to lounge out and the rock catches sun pretty much all day. Behind the spot flows a little river and on the way, you will pass a lake with some turtles in it. The city center of Kelmis is pretty close should you wish to drink a beer after climbing.
